Research for the future: new high-performance materials, products and processes

You want to prepare yourself for the future with new ideas, innovative products or processes?

The TITV Greiz is a recognized business-oriented research institute for future-oriented research and development in the field of innovative special textiles. The success of the institute is based on development of electrically conductive textiles as well as special surface treatments and their applications in self-luminous, sensory or heating textiles.

We develop innovative applications, e.g. for electrical engineering, medical technology, vehicle construction, the sports and wellness sector as well as protective clothing.

Using research results economically

The TITV Greiz has many years of experience in project work and develops practical solutions for companies. With application-oriented research directly commissioned by companies or supported by public funding, we work to increase the innovative capacity of companies.

Simply effective - automatic component assembly of light bands

Automatische Integration von LED auf Textil

Industrial production can begin with the automated positioning and contacting of SMD components. 

There are still some barriers to a successful market entry of Smart Textiles despite good forecasts. These barriers include lack of reliability and accuracy, high manufacturing costs and low reproducibility. However, e-textiles will only become established once they are also suitable for mass production.

We are therefore working intensively on the development of automated production processes. Conventional machines which are used in the electronics industry for PCB assembly, have been modified during the research project. Therefore SMD components can now be positioned automatically and contacted on conductive textile surfaces.
