„White scale“ is a five-level white measure made of cotton or polyester for the calibration of spectral photometers to guarantee a standardized level and allow a better verification of different devices.
Reflectance values of flourescent samples of „White scale“ are traceable back to values provided by National Research Council of Canada (NRCC).
The spectral distribution of daylight D65 is approximated in spectrometers equipped with a Xenon flash-lamp.
Since samples made of cotton have a life span of only 3 months, we recommend the use of polyester samples with a life span of at least 8 months.
„White scale“ was developed in cooperation with Ciba Speciality Chemicals Grenzach, Switzerland, and is distributed by the TITV Geiz.
